Last Nights Number: Miami Heat vs Washington Wizards

09.1%

09.1% was the percentage of made three pointers the Heat had in a 107-86 blow out loss to the Wizards. John Wall had a double-double by half time and sat the entire fourth quarter.

But everyone for the Wizards showed up, even Andre Miller and Rasual Butler took the bench unit for a rewind.

Bonus Number

127

The LA Clippers put up 127 points against the hapless Minnesota Timberwolves.  Blake Griffin and J.J. Redick each had 23 points, while Spencer Hawes went 4 of 7 for three pointers and ended with 14 points. DeAndre Jordan had a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds.

What to Watch Tonight: Toronto at Sacramento 10pm eastern. Both have a key piece missing from their lineups, but the two should be good enough to get interesting.

Drew Gooden III had 18 points in 34 minutes as he got the start at the Power Forward position for the Wizards. He went 8 for 11 shooting, with 5 rebounds and one assist. The Wizards lost to the Heat 107-95 as they were down three players in Nene, DeJuan Blair and Glen Rice Jr. Chris Bosh was in Raptors form as he went for 26 points, but the real story was the short career of Rasual Butler as a Wizard.

RIP Rasual.

And the last Highlander appears to be Rasual Butler.

He brings long experience and stability to the bench, something that Randy Whittman likes a lot. In the five pre-season games with the Wizards, Butler averaged 20 minutes, 6.8 ppg, 2 rebounds and an assist. He shot 40% in three-pointers and averaged less than a turnover a game.

So Butler may not win you a game, but he certainly won’t lose you one either.

His scoring really dropped off the last couple years, but he was averaging small amounts of garbage time per game. It appears he will mostly be doing the same, except for maybe this first month where injuries will put him in regular rotation.

Other fun facts, he appeared in a Trina video and appeared as himself in “Think Like A Man.”

Now we can bestow the nickname Ra’s Al Ghul upon him, hoping that the Verizon Center turns into his Lazarus Pit.
